What happens
Pip's horn grew with a bend in it, and for a whole spring she tries to hide it. Then the herd needs someone who can reach a rope caught sideways under a bridge, and only a crooked horn will do.

Every unicorn in the meadow had a horn that pointed straight up at the sky, as though it had been drawn with a ruler. Every unicorn except Pip.
Pip's horn leaned. Not much — about as much as a tree leans away from the wind — but enough that she had learned to stand with that side toward the hedge.
"It's the same horn," her mother said. "It just disagrees with the others about which way is up."
