The librarian did not ask what he liked. She looked at him for about four seconds, went away, and came back with a thin green book.
"I'm not a good reader," said Otis, which was the sentence he always got out of the way early.
"I know," said the librarian. "It says so on page one." And it did. Otis opened the book and the first line was: OTIS THINKS HE IS BAD AT THIS. HE IS WRONG, BUT NOT IN THE WAY HE EXPECTS.
