Rexie had the loudest roar in the whole valley. When she roared, three lakes rippled and every bird in a mile went somewhere else.
When it thundered, Rexie went under the ferns and stayed there.
"It's only a sound," said her friend Bo, from outside the ferns, in the rain. "So is my roar," said Rexie, from inside them, "and everyone runs from that." Bo had to admit this was a fair point.
